YouTube Partner Program Monetization Threshold Update
YouTube has announced changes to the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) monetization thresholds. This notice summarizes the key changes to help partners prepare in advance.
Important Policy Change
Starting February 1, 2027, the thresholds for earning advertising revenue and YouTube Premium revenue through YPP will be increased. Please review the details below and plan your channel growth strategy accordingly.
I. YPP Monetization Threshold Comparison
The subscriber requirement remains unchanged at 1,000. Only the watch time and Shorts view thresholds are being adjusted.

II. Key Points
- The new thresholds apply to earning advertising revenue and YouTube Premium revenue. Channels must meet either the long-form watch hours threshold OR the Shorts views threshold (not both).
- Channels already in YPP before February 1, 2027 are not affected. The new thresholds apply to channels applying for YPP on or after that date.
- The 1,000-subscriber threshold remains unchanged.
- Partners are strongly advised to plan ahead: increase high-quality long-form content output, optimize viewer retention, and build sustainable Shorts strategies to meet the updated thresholds.
